The tele-akademie of the University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen has the objective to coordinate the scientific further education of the university and while doing so to try out the application of new multimedia learning technologies.
Scientific further education as a background
Scientific further education means all kinds of qualification which follow a university or vocational degree. Its objective is to enlarge knowledge and skills as well as to update already acquired qualification.
Multimedia and online media
The tele-akademie develops suitable multimedia based learning environments. The use of multimedia is not a self purpose but has to
- follow the instructional design,
- be technical feasible and
- be economical.
Central unit of the University
As the central unit of the University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen the tele-akademie is committed to academic quality standards. A special characteristic of teaching at Universities of Applied Sciences is the application-oriented content on a scientific level.
Coordinating further education on a scientific level
Due to German law, all higher education bodies in Germany are supposed to be engaged in further education. The tele-akademie fulfils this mission for the University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen and supports cooperating Universities.
